Giving Back to the Community

Robert Gaines-Cooper's current business endeavors with the LMC company produce Laryngeal Masks that have helped save lives around the world. His Chelle Medical factory provides jobs and opportunities to the Seychellois that may not have been available to his community.

Robert Gaines-Cooper has also provided opportunities outside of the Laryngeal Mask and the plastics factory through financial contributions. Some of Robert Gaines-Cooper's charitable contributions include:

St Elizabeth’s Convent for Girls, Mahe, Seychelles

Foyer de Nazareth Convent for Boys, Mahe, Seychelles

Among his contributions to the Convents for children, Mr Gaines-Cooper funds Christmas parties for underprivileged children at Foyer de Nazareth Convent for Boys and St Elizabeth’s Convent for Girls in Mahe.

St Paul's Cathedral, Mahe, Seychelles

During renovation of the church, Robert Gaines-Cooper donated the copper roof and, in commemoration of his mother, stained glass windows. He also arranged for the choir of St Paul's Church in Mahe to travel to and sing for a congregation in Sonning.

St Andrew's Church, Sonning, Berkshire, UK

Mr. Gaines-Cooper arranged for St Andrew's Cathedral's vicar and choir to preach and perform for the community in Mahe.

Seychelles National Council for Children

Mr. Gaines-Cooper's contribution assisted the launch and helps to sustain the National Council For Children that "provides care and assistance for children and promotes public education programmes on child-related issues." Mr Gaines-Cooper has helped with the educational and international development of the organization.

Tutorial College, Seychelles

Robert Gaines-Cooper helped purchase and print a series of textbooks used by the Tutorial College, a school which provides education opportunities to underprivileged Seychellois children.
